 1  6,3|                            The Polyeleos.~The second part of the
 2  6,3|         This singing is called Polyeleos, i.e.,“of many mercies,”
 3  6,4|    great feast-days, after the Polyeleos, standing before an icon
 4  6,6|     and with the verses of the Polyeleos Psalm, and are chanted only
 5  6,6|   service is sometimes called “Polyeleos.” Thence the expression “
 6  6,6| expression “a service with the Polyeleos” signifies that at the Matins
 7  6,7|          The Canon.~ After the Polyeleos, nine odes from Holy Scripture
 8  6,9|   feast-vigil:~ 1) There is no Polyeleos or Gospel lesson, and immediately
 9  8,1|      the day of this feast the Polyeleos is sung, excepting when
10  8,1|      Easter. In that case, the Polyeleos is omitted, the canon of
11  8,2|       sung at Matins after the Polyeleos Psalms.~ On the Sunday following
