3. Simple collaboration or full co-responsibility?
When lay persons make their “contribution” directly to reach the goals of the Institute, the mode of involvement can be two-fold.
Simple collaboration: the Institute keeps collaborators informed on its choices and general strategies of the activities and the work. Sometimes they ask for suggestions, but not on the planning or general operational lines, which remain the responsibility and custody of the religious; or the laity is consulted when problems come up that are not foreseen in the planning.
Full co-responsibility: they opt for a total involvement in the work, also in choices, directors or general strategies. In this case they grow together and transform reality together, creating new ways for evangelization.
