27. And Who, like this our Saviour, has clearly foretold the things that respected the impious (Jews), and respecting the Church which was established by Himself throughout the whole creation, and in the very things themselves? and has shewn their confirmation in their effects? -- who said of the impious (Jews), "Behold, your house is left desolate25; nor shall stone remain upon stone in this place, which shall not be thrown down26." And of His Church He said; " Upon this rock I build my Church, and the gate-bars of Hell shall not prevail against it27 ?"
