Discourse

 1  Thal    |   being delivered from the evils of the flesh, become, on
 2  Thal(54)| than I do the immeasurable evils of an enforced celibacy;
 3 Procil   |  and griefs, and the other evils of the iniquity of men,
 4 Thekla   |    waste and unfruitful of evils, and barren of corruption,
 5 Thekla   |    a place unproductive of evils, is nourished, flying on
 6 Thekla   | manner of life. For of all evils the greatest which is implanted
 7 Thekla   |  cause and author of human evils. For if He harmoniously
 8 Thekla   |  be the Cause and Giver of evils. But God is the cause of
 9 Thekla   |  helpful, not the cause of evils, free from passion, and
10 Thekla   |    by nature implicated in evils. Therefore our birth is
11 Thekla   |    God is not the cause of evils, nor does He rejoice in
12 Thekla   |     nor does He rejoice in evils. Nor does reason commend
13  Domn    |    happiness and rest from evils, if he gave heed to it with
14 Arete    |  now, O Christ, from these evils.~Chorus. I keep myself pure
