Canon 1307

1. Not only the parties who feel themselves aggrieved can file

a complaint of nullity but also the promoter of justice or the

defender of the bond whenever they have the right to intervene.

2. A judge himself can ex officio retract or amend an invalid

sentence which he has pronounced, within the time period for acting set by cann. 1303, 2 and 1304, 2, unless meanwhile an appeal together with a complaint of nullity has been filed.
