Canon 1410

The imposition of penalties on a cleric must preserve for him

what is necessary for his decent support, unless it is a case of

deposition, in which event the hierarch is to see to it that the

deposed who is truly in need because of the punishment is provided for in the best way possible, taking into account always

his vested right to insurance and social security as well as

health insurance for him and for his family, if he is married.
