Canon 1464

1. One who, in addition to the cases already foreseen in law,

has misused power, an office, a ministry or another function in

the Church by action or omission, is to be punished with an appropriate penalty, not excluding their deprivation, unless another penalty has been established in law or precept for such an

abuse. 2. One, who out of culpable negligence, has unlawfully

placed or omitted an act of ecclesiastical authority, office,

ministry or other function in the Church, causing harm to another, is to be punished with an appropriate penalty.
