Canon 1483

1. In accordance with the norm of can. 1276, an injured party

can exercise in the penal trial itself a contentious action for

the repairing of damages sustained due to the offense. 2. The

intervention of an injured party is not admitted afterwards if it

was not made in the first grade of the penal trial. 3. The appeal in a case for damages is made in accordance with cann. 1309-1321 even if an appeal in the penal trial cannot be made; but if

both appeals are proposed, though by different parties, there is

to be a single appellate trial with due regard for can. 1484.
