Canon 205

1. The eparchial bishop is bound by the obligation of canonically visiting the eparchy either entirely or in part every year

so that at least every five years he himself or, if legitimately

impeded, the coadjutor bishop, the auxiliary bishop, the proto-syncellus or syncellus, or some other presbyter, should canonically visit the entire eparchy. 2. Persons, Catholic institutions, sacred things and places within the boundaries of the eparchy are subject to the canonical visitation of the eparchial

bishop. 3. The eparchial bishop can visit members of religious

institutes as well as those of societies of common life in the

manner of the religious who are of pontifical or patriarchal

right and their houses only in the cases expressed in law.
