Canon 227

1. The administrator of an eparchy is to manifest integrity,

piety, sound doctrine and prudence. 2. Only a bishop or a

presbyter who is not bound by the bond of matrimony, who has

completed thirty five years of age and who has not already been

elected, proposed, appointed or transferred to the same vacant

see can be validly elected or appointed to the office of administrator of the eparchy. If these conditions have been neglected, the acts of the one elected or appointed are null by the law

itself.
