Canon 228

1. When the see is vacant there are to be no innovations. 2.

Those who temporarily care for the governance of the eparchy are

prohibited from doing anything which could be prejudicial to the

eparchy or episcopal rights. They themselves and all other persons are specifically prohibited from removing, destroying or

altering any documents of the eparchial curia either personally

or through another.
