Canon 491

The exclaustrated member remains bound by the vows and other obligations of the monastic profession which are compatible with

his or her condition; the member must put off the monastic habit;

during the time of the exclaustration he or she lacks active and

passive voice and is subject to the eparchial bishop of the place

where he or she dwells in place of the superior of his or her own

monastery also in virtue of the vow of obedience.
