1. In order for a member to be appointed or elected validly to the office of superior, an appropriate period of time is required after perpetual profession, to be determined by the statutes, which in the case of the major superiors must be at least ten years from first profession. 2. If it is the case of the superior general, there is moreover required for validity that he or she be thirty-five years of age.
