1. A director shall be appointed for the formation of the novices in accordance with the statutes; the director shall be a member who is professed at least ten years from first profession, outstanding in prudence, charity, piety, knowledge, and the observance of religious state, and, in a clerical order or congregation, a presbyter. 2. Assistants can be given to the director, if this is necessary, who are subject to the director in everything that pertains to the direction of the novitiate and the formation of the novices. 3. The director alone has the right and duty of providing for the formation of the novices, so that no one is allowed to interfere in these thing under any pretext whatever, except the superiors to whom this is permitted by the statutes, and visitators; however, in what relates to the religious discipline of the entire house, the director, in the same way as the novices, is subject to the superior. 4.
