1. Associations erected or approved by the Apostolic See can be only suppressed by the Apostolic See. 2. The other associations, with due regard for can. 927, 2, and with due regard to the right of recourse, with suspensive effect, according to the norm of law, besides by the Apostolic See, can be suppressed: (1) by the patriarch with the consent of his permanent synod; or by the metropolitan who presides in a metropolitan Church sui iuris, with the consent of the two senior eparchial bishops according to episcopal ordination; (2) by an eparchial bishop, if the associations were erected or approved by him.
