Canon 647

The aim of ecclesiastical universities and faculties is: (1) to

inquire more deeply and scientifically into divine revelation and

all that is related to it, to analyze and to structure systematically the truths of divine revelation, to study contemporary

problems in its light, and to present these matters to the people

of today in a way that is suited to their culture; (2) to give

higher education to students of various disciplines according to

Catholic doctrine and to prepare them properly for various apostolates or ministries or for teaching the same disciplines, and

to promote ongoing formation.
