Canon 716

With due regard for can. 1013, it is strongly recommended that

eparchial bishops introduce the practice, inasmuch as it is possible, according to which only those offerings are received on

the occasion of the Divine Liturgy which the Christian faithful

make on their own; individual priests should also freely celebrate the Divine Liturgy without any offering for the intentions

of the Christian faithful, especially the needy.
