Canon 838

1. Marriage is to be celebrated in a parish church, or with the

permission of the local hierarch or pastor, in another sacred

place; however, it cannot be celebrated in other places without

the permission of the local hierarch. 2. Concerning the time

of the celebration of marriage, the norms to be observed are

those established in the particular law of each Church sui iuris.
