Canon 26

1. In exercising their rights the Christian faithful, both as

individuals and when gathered in associations, must take account

of the common good of the Church and of the rights of others as

well as their own obligations toward others. 2. In the interest of the common good, ecclesiastical authority has competence

to regulate the exercise of the rights which belong to the Christian faithful.
