1. Transfer can be effected only by one who has the right of providing for the office which is being lost as well as for the office which is being conferred. 2. If a transfer is to be made against the will of the one who holds the office, with due regard for the norms concerning members of religious institutes or of societies of common life in the manner of religious, a grave cause is required and the procedure prescribed by law is to be observed with due regard for the right to bring forward arguments against the transfer. 3. To take effect a transfer must be communicated in writing.
