Canon 1098

Unless common law expressly provides otherwise: (1) as often as

the law requires the judge to hear the parties or one or other of

them, the promoter of justice and the defender of the bond are

also to be heard if they are present in court; (2) as often as

the judge is required to decide something at the request of a

party, the request of the promoter of justice or the defender of

the bond has the same force when they are present in the court.
