Canon 1176

1. The obligations of the arbitrators are to be spelled out in

the compromise, as well as those which touch on secrecy to be

observed. 2. Unless the parties have specified otherwise, the

arbitrators are free to select the procedure to be followed; it

is however, to be simple and provide for brief time limits, observing equity and the procedural laws. 3. The arbitrators do

not have any coercive power; in case of necessity they can introduce the case before the competent tribunal.
