Canon 1199

If the litigating party dies, or changes status, or ceases from

the office on behalf of which the suit was initiated: (1) if

the case is not concluded, its prosecution is suspended until the

heir of the deceased, the successor or an interested party resumes the suit; (2) if the case is concluded, the judge must

proceed to the final acts after having cited the procurator if

present or otherwise the heir or the successor of the deceased.
