Canon 1227

1. Even if documents are common, no one is obliged to exhibit

those which cannot be communicated without risk of harm in accordance with the norm of can. 1229, 2, n. 2, or without risk of

violating the obligation to observe secrecy. 2. Nonetheless,

if some excerpt, at least, of a document can be transcribed and

can be presented in copy form without the above-mentioned hazards

the judge can decree that it be produced.
