Canon 1239

1. Witnesses must be questioned at the tribunal unless it appears otherwise appropriate to the judge. 2. Bishops and those

who, by the law of their state, enjoy a similar right, are to be

heard in a place which they themselves select. 3. The judge is

to decide where those are to be heard for whom it is impossible

or difficult to come to the tribunal because of distance, illness

or other impediment with due regard for the prescriptions of

cann. 1071 and 1128.
