Canon 266

The following are to be observed in regard to the constitution of

the presbyteral council: (1) an appropriate portion of the members are to be elected by the priests themselves according to the

norm of the particular law of their Church sui iuris; (2) some

priests, according to the norms of the statutes, must be ex officio members who belong to the council in virtue of their offices;

(3) it is the right of the eparchial bishop to freely appoint

other members.
