Canon 453

1. It is the superior of an monastery sui iuris who admits to

the novitiate after having consulted the council. 2. Superiors

themselves must make certain of the suitability and the full

freedom of a candidate in choosing the monastic state by using

appropriate means. 3. In respect to the submission of documents as well as the various testimonials concerning their good

conduct and suitability, the prescriptions of the typicon shall

be followed.
