Canon 846 1. A marriage which is invalid due to a defect of consent is convalidated when the party who has not consented now gives consent, provided the consent given by the other party still exists. 2. If the defect of consent cannot be proven it is sufficient that the party who did not consent gives consent privately and in secret. 3. If the defect of consent can be proven it is necessary that the consent be given according to the form for the celebration of marriage required by law.
