Canon 859

1. A non-baptized man who at the same time has several non-baptized wives, after having received baptism in the Catholic

Church, if it is difficult to remain with the first, can keep one

of them while dismissing the others; the same is true for a non-baptized woman, who at the same time has several non-baptized

husbands. 2. In this case the marriage is to be celebrated

according to the form prescribed by law while observing the other

requirements of law. 3. After considering the moral, social,

and economic conditions of the place and of the persons, the

local hierarch is to take care that sufficient provision is made

in accordance with the norms of justice, charity, and equity for

the needs of those who are dismissed.
