Canon 983 1. The burden of proving delegation rests with the person who claims to have been delegated. 2. A delegate who exceeds the limits of the mandate with respect to matters or to persons acts invalidly. 3. A delegate who acts in delegated matters in a manner other than that determined in the mandate is not considered to have exceeded the limits of the mandate unless the manner of acting is prescribed for validity by the one delegating.
