Canon 1253

In evaluating testimony, after having obtained testimonial letters if need be, the judge should consider: (1) the condition

and good reputation of the person; (2) whether the witness

testifies in virtue of personal knowledge, especially what has

been seen and heard personally, or whether the testimony is the

witness' opinion, or a rumor or hearsay from others; (3) whether

the witness is reliable and firmly consistent or rather inconsistent, uncertain or vacillating; (4) whether the witness has supporting witnesses or whether there is support from other sources

of proof.
