 1     IV,  X|             9. Two sorts of beings, cogitative and incogitative. There
 2     IV,  X|              we will hereafter call cogitative and incogitative beings;
 3     IV,  X| Incogitative being cannot produce a cogitative being. If, then, there must
 4     IV,  X|            it must necessarily be a cogitative being. For it is as impossible
 5     IV,  X|       matter were the eternal first cogitative being, there would not be
 6     IV,  X|           be one eternal, infinite, cogitative being, but an infinite number
 7     IV,  X|          number of eternal, finite, cogitative beings, independent one
 8     IV,  X|           being must necessarily be cogitative; and whatsoever is first
 9     IV,  X|           there has been an eternal cogitative Being. If, therefore, it
10     IV,  X|     something must necessarily be a cogitative being: for it is as impossible
11     IV,  X|             matter should produce a cogitative being, as that nothing,
12     IV,  X|           attributes of the eternal cogitative Being. Though this discovery
13     IV,  X|            God, that is, an eternal cogitative Being: whereby they are
14     IV,  X|         matter, without any eternal cogitative Being, they manifestly separate
15     IV,  X|            already, that an eternal cogitative Being is unavoidably to
16     IV,  X|          the eternal existence of a cogitative Being, and they suppose
17     IV,  X|           particle of matter is not cogitative. But now let us see how
18     IV,  X|            of matter, to be as well cogitative as extended, they will have
19     IV,  X|          out to their own reasons a cogitative being out of incogitative
20     IV,  X|           alone of matter cannot be cogitative. If all matter does not
21     IV,  X|       incogitative matter cannot be cogitative. If then neither one peculiar
