1 III| Life of S. Alban and of S. Amphiabel~After that Julius Cæsar,
2 III| great array which hight Amphiabel, a goodly young man, and
3 III| the prince's son of Wales, Amphiabel, and baptized him, and informed
4 III| faith. And then this holy Amphiabel forsook the pomp and glory
5 III| own country, among whom S. Amphiabel, which long had dwelt at
6 III| did great worship. Then Amphiabel, which had left the arms
7 III| the gentiles? To whom S. Amphiabel said: My Lord Jesu Christ,
8 III| christian men feel thereof. Then Amphiabel expounded to him and declared
9 III| and came on the morn to Amphiabel and told him what he had
10 III| had dreamed. And then S. Amphiabel thanked our Lord, and so
11 III| and thus kept his master Amphiabel in his house six weeks and
12 III| gave sentence, first on Amphiabel, that wherever he was found
13 III| went into Wales for to seek Amphiabel for to be baptized and informed
14 III| to receive the faith of Amphiabel, S. Alban's master, whereof
15 III| and in defence for to seek Amphiabel and those people that were
16 III| these people awaiting on Amphiabel and hearing him preach the
17 III| that were so sent, said to Amphiabel: O thou deceiver and most
18 III| cousins. Then the holy man Amphiabel, seeing this blessed company
19 III| then the tormentors took Amphiabel, and sware by their gods
20 III| going from Verulam toward Amphiabel for to receive the faith,
21 III| the faith, and he cried to Amphiabel for to be relieved of his
22 III| the paynims scorned, and Amphiabel, by the name of our Lord,
23 III| our Lord. They said that Amphiabel was brought and should come,
24 III| a thousand people, which Amphiabel saw, and thanked God, recommending
25 III| Then at last this holy man Amphiabel lifted up his eyes unto
26 III| martyrs, S. Alban and S. Amphiabel, martyrdom and death for
