1    I|   dire a lust of sovereignty~E’er light upon thee, howso
2    I|  imposed~On clime and clime, e’er since the primal dawn~
3    I|    crown of fire, depart,~Or e’er the furrow’s claim of
4    I| conformed.~If chilly showers e’er shut the farmer’s door, ~
5    I|      mateless and alone.~Nor e’en the maids, that card
6   II|   bounds~With conquering arm e’en now art fending far~The
