Following my reply (no. 8358¹⁷) to your letter, I hasten to inform you that the Holy Father has no problem with assigning Card. Bausa as Protector to the Congregation of the Missionaries for the Italian emigrants. However, protocol requires that he be willing to accept this office. His Holiness would like you to ask him about this matter and to inform him of his answer. If it is affirmative, we will proceed with the issuance of the required document.
