3 2 | and dishonour, pain and pleasure,~all these things equally
4 2 | attract with the~bait of pleasure or terrify by pain, or are
5 2 | when it is overpowered by pleasure or by pain. Fourthly, when~
6 3 | manner disposed so as to give pleasure. And so he will see even
7 3 | wild beasts with no less pleasure than those which~painters
8 3 | cares not for thoughts about pleasure or sensual enjoyments at~
9 3 | the man~uncontaminated by pleasure, unharmed by any pain, untouched
10 3 | or power, or enjoyment of pleasure, should~come into competition
11 4 | assented~to about pain and pleasure, and be quiet at last.-
12 5 | thou exist then to take thy pleasure, and not at all~for action
13 5 | endurance of~labour, aversion to pleasure, contentment with thy portion
14 5 | neglecting it nor yet taking pleasure in thy dulness.~ One man,
15 5 | this the very reason why pleasure deceives us? And consider
16 5 | in the flesh, whether of pleasure or of pain; and let it~not
17 6 | like the wrong~doer.~ Take pleasure in one thing and rest in
18 6 | opposed his~opinions; and the pleasure that he had when any man
19 6 | arrangement I ought to accept with pleasure and to be content with~them.
20 6 | own~good; and he who loves pleasure, his own sensations; but
21 8 | leisure to be superior to~pleasure and pain: thou hast leisure
22 8 | having refused any sensual pleasure. Pleasure then is~neither
23 8 | refused any sensual pleasure. Pleasure then is~neither good nor

25 8 | then art thou? to~enjoy pleasure? See if common sense allows
26 8 | which is opposed to love~of pleasure, and that is temperance.~

28 9 | And~indeed he who pursues pleasure as good, and avoids pain
29 9 | are~in the enjoyment of pleasure and possess the things which
30 9 | the things which procure~pleasure, but the good have pain
31 9 | impiety. And he who pursues pleasure will not abstain~from injustice,
32 9 | respect to pain, then,~and pleasure, or death and life, or honour
33 10| money is a good thing, or pleasure, or a bit of~reputation,
34 10| luxury is to those who enjoy~pleasure, such shall be to thee,
35 12| consider what pain is, what~pleasure is, and death, and fame;
