 1 VII |         example, in the love of God by those among us who are
 2 VII |        St. Augustine's "City of God," wherein he distinguishes

31 XI  |       were, a special temple of God. In the successive sacraments,
32 XI  |     whereby this same temple of God is made beautiful and is
33 XII |        fear of these two men. ~ God is my witness that whensoever
34 XII |  hounded St. Athanasius. Often, God knows, I sank so deep in
35 XIII|         toward the East. Never, God knows, would I have agreed
36 XIII|        opportunity presented by God himself to me whereby I
37 XIII|        all the more pleasing to God and man. And God granted
38 XIII|    pleasing to God and man. And God granted such favour in the
39 XIV |        this respect, I thought, God's mercy had been kinder
40 XIV |        not alone in the eyes of God, but likewise in the eyes
41 XIV |       tidings of the kingdom of God: and the twelve were with
42 XV  |        deemed a rash tempter of God rather than a lover of Him,
43 XV  |       been confounded, for that God hath despised them." ~ Commenting
44 XV  |    loving: "I give thanks to my God that I am worthy to be one
45 XV  |      that the great goodness of God permits nothing to be done
46 XV  |    consolation to all lovers of God in the word of the Apostle
47 XV  |      for good to them that love God" (Rom. viii. 28). The wise
