Chapter

 1 For|     OFTEN the hearts of men and women are stirred, as likewise
 2 V  |       from association with the women of noble birth who attended
 3 VI |       this virtue is rare among women, and for that very reason
 4 VI |    beginning of the human race, women had cast down even the noblest
 5 XI |        actors, in the beauty of women, in the glitter of gems
 6 XIV|       to Asella regarding those women whom he was falsely accused
 7 XIV|    those who wish to have their women kept under close guard employ
 8 XIV|        among modest and upright women by the fact that they are
 9 XIV|      with in his instruction of women in sacred doctrine. In this
10 XIV|       familiar intercourse with women, and this though they were
11 XIV|      duty of monks, proves that women followed our Lord Jesus
12 XIV|   preached (Chap. 4). "Faithful women," he says, "who were possessed
13 XIV| apostles thus permitted saintly women to go about with them wheresoever
14 XIV|       were with Him and certain women which had been healed of
15 XIV|       meaning thereby that such women may lawfully be supported
16 XIV|     eyes, founding convents for women and making provision for
17 XIV|       food and take care of the women? (Acts vi. 5). For the weaker
18 XIV|        given authority over the women, and the women bind themselves
19 XIV|         over the women, and the women bind themselves in their
20 XIV|      possibly be carried out by women, either as superiors or
21 XIV|     people. The more power such women exercise over men, the more
