 1 I, 9 |       take sinful man without an atonement, in substitution for lost
 2 I, 4 |        long as he has it without atonement it is his sin. And truly
 3 II, 6|        the God-man, can make the atonement by which man is saved. ~
 4 II, 7|       man, in order to make this atonement. For he cannot and ought
 5 II, 8|      therefore ought not to make atonement for it, because he never
 6 II, 8|         is right for man to make atonement for the sin of man, it is
 7 II, 8|  necessary that he who makes the atonement should be the very being
 8 II, 8|      born of them, ought to make atonement for the sin of men. And,
 9 II, 1| Therefore, he who wishes to make atonement for man's sin should be
10 II, 6|       certainly proper that that atonement which Christ made should
11 II, 6|         and yet wished to render atonement and to be set right again
