Poem

 1 1|       Mira of my decision. She knew that the music conservatory
 2 1|       might fail the year. She knew that the dean’s office had
 3 1|   hands back in his pockets. I knew that all this posturing
 4 1|      profound reasoning, but I knew it was nothing of the kind.
 5 1|       the students. Mira, too, knew that they made fun of me.
 6 1|       ti, Arthur?"~    But who knew what Mira was doing now
 7 3| fascination with music when he knew absolutely nothing about
 8 4|     would not have left. But I knew that I had been in that
 9 4| already. There were others who knew they had neither the inclination
10 4|        sign of surprise, but I knew that he did not believe
11 7|    said no more. Mira’s father knew my father! I blushed. How
12 8|     mother became anxious. She knew nothing about Mira’s troubles.
