Poem

1 1|        crossed my lips. My father stopped his pacing and halted in
2 2|       grabbed my arm. My giggling stopped at once.~    "You hippy!"
3 2|     turned his back on me.~    He stopped at the door, turned towards
4 3|         conservatory."~    Burhan stopped writing in the thick notebook
5 3| mechanically.~    The three of us stopped by the window. The courtyard
6 4|         for instance."~    Burhan stopped. He gave no sign of surprise,
7 4|            He caught up to us and stopped. Mira cowered behind me.
8 5|      dishes full of food. Then he stopped and looked at me as if I
