 1 Granny|                  XVI~GRANNY'S BLACKIE~ONCE upon a time a rich
 2 Granny| called the Elephant "Granny's Blackie."~The Elephant carried the

 5 Granny|    down again, carefully.~But Blackie never did any work.~He ate
 6 Granny|  visited with Granny.~One day Blackie wanted Granny to go off
 7 Granny|  woods with him.~"I can't go, Blackie, dear. I have too much work
 8 Granny|    too much work to do."~Then Blackie looked at her and saw that
 9 Granny|       water.~When the man saw Blackie standing on the bank he
10 Granny|       said, "That is Granny's Blackie."~"Very well," said the
11 Granny|      draws across the river."~Blackie was glad to hear this promise.

24 Granny|      you are!"~And after that Blackie did all the hard work and
