Dialogue

 1 Charm|       reached Athens.)~You see, I replied, that here I am.~There was
 2 Charm|  acquaintance had fallen.~That, I replied, was not far from the truth.~
 3 Charm|         his father?~Charmides, he replied, is his name; he is my cousin,
 4 Charm|           nothing of his face, he replied, if you could see his naked
 5 Charm|         within, as he is without, replied Critias.~Then, before we
 6 Charm|          That, my dear Critias, I replied, is a distinction which
 7 Charm|          will be sure to come, he replied.~He came as he was bidden,
 8 Charm|        And what is it? he said.~I replied that it was a kind of leaf,
 9 Charm|           I ought to know you, he replied, for there is a great deal
10 Charm|         this?~No matter at all, I replied; for the point is not who
11 Charm|           the right, Socrates, he replied.~To be sure, I said; yet
12 Charm| well-ordered state.~Of course, he replied.~Then temperance, I said,
13 Charm|           you, Charmides?~Nay, he replied, I certainly thought him
14 Charm|         business.’~I dare say, he replied.~And what is the meaning
15 Charm|         not the same?~No more, he replied, than making or working
16 Charm|        doing their own?~I was, he replied; but what is your drift?~
17 Charm|          said.~I am reflecting, I replied, and discover that temperance,
18 Charm|      think that you are right, he replied; and I will do as you say.~
19 Charm|      difficulty?~By all means, he replied.~Does not what you have
20 Charm|            This is what I mean, I replied: I will admit that there
21 Charm|          am saying is nonsense, I replied; and yet if a man has any
22 Charm|        determine.~Yet I think, he replied, that if you discard knowledge,
23 Charm|        happy?~Not all equally, he replied.~But which most tends to
24 Charm|        not be of use.~And why, he replied, will not wisdom be of use?
25 Charm|          I shall use violence, he replied, since he orders me; and
26 Charm|          I will not resist you, I replied.~ ~
