 1 Craty|       Socrates is either wholly right or wholly wrong, or that
 2 Craty|         In a sense, Cratylus is right in saying that things have
 3 Craty|    dialectician standing on his right hand,’ we need not infer
 4 Craty|   genial and ironical mood hits right and left at his adversaries:
 5 Craty|      the Gods must of course be right in their use of names. And
 6 Craty|     which are more likely to be right—the wiser or the less wise,
 7 Craty|      but I say that if kakia is right, then arete is also right.
 8 Craty|       right, then arete is also right. But what is kakon? That
 9 Craty|          and therefore they are right; or that the barbarians
10 Craty|        that pictures may give a right or wrong representation
11 Craty|         representation true and right or false and wrong? Cratylus
12 Craty|      will admit that there is a right or a wrong assignment of
13 Craty|    safely argue from them about right and wrong, matter and mind,
14 Craty|    dialectician standing on his right hand,’ in Plato’s striking
15 Craty|      hardly say that there is a right or wrong in the formation
16 Craty|     They are distributed on the right hand and on the left by
17 Craty|     give, in my opinion, is the right one, and if you change that
18 Craty|        dare say that you may be right, Hermogenes: let us see;—
19 Craty|  SOCRATES: But if Protagoras is right, and the truth is that things
20 Craty|     SOCRATES: But if neither is right, and things are not relative
21 Craty|      and the natural process is right and will succeed, but any
22 Craty|     that the natural way is the right way.~SOCRATES: Again, in
23 Craty|   burning, not every way is the right way; but the right way is
24 Craty|       is the right way; but the right way is the natural way,
25 Craty|        the natural way, and the right instrument the natural instrument.~
26 Craty|        persons; and Cratylus is right in saying that things have
27 Craty|         to call things by their right and natural names; do you
28 Craty|        believe you to be on the right track.~SOCRATES: There is
29 Craty|   HERMOGENES: I believe you are right.~SOCRATES: And may not the
30 Craty|        of all. Wherefore we are right in calling him Zena and
31 Craty|     word? Tell me if my view is right.~HERMOGENES: Let me hear.~
32 Craty|    Socrates, that you are quite right, and I would like to do
33 Craty|         that Cratylus was quite right in saying that I was no
34 Craty|         previous word kakia was right, then arete is also right.~
35 Craty|       right, then arete is also right.~HERMOGENES: But what is
36 Craty| HERMOGENES: Very likely you are right; but suppose that we leave
37 Craty|         remark, Hermogenes, how right I was in saying that great
38 Craty|         this is very likely the right answer, and something of
39 Craty|    resolution, then we shall be right in saying that we have at
40 Craty|        believe you to be in the right.~SOCRATES: And suppose the
41 Craty|          Then could I have been right in what I was saying?~HERMOGENES:
42 Craty|          and therefore they are right.’ This will be the best
43 Craty|    disciples.~CRATYLUS: You are right, Socrates, in saying that
44 Craty|  SOCRATES: I believe you may be right, but I do not rightly understand
45 Craty|         modes of assigning them right, or only the first?~CRATYLUS:
46 Craty|     figures or to names, I call right, and when applied to names
47 Craty|     names only, true as well as right; and the other mode of giving
48 Craty|       names—they must be always right.~SOCRATES: Why, what is
49 Craty|       very good of you, if I am right, which need hardly be disputed
50 Craty|        pictures to objects, the right assignment of them we may
51 Craty|   motion, and hardness? Were we right or wrong in saying so?~CRATYLUS:
52 Craty|        should say that you were right.~SOCRATES: And that lamda
53 Craty|  CRATYLUS: There again you were right.~SOCRATES: And yet, as you
54 Craty|         But, Socrates, am I not right in thinking that he must
55 Craty|      clear which of the two are right; and this must be a standard
