 1 Craty|     shuttles is the weaver who uses them; the judge of lyres
 2 Craty|      in this, as in some other uses of it, has tended rather
 3 Craty|     but that in all the higher uses of language the sound is
 4 Craty|        a word all the existing uses of it have to be considered.
 5 Craty|  SOCRATES: And when the weaver uses the shuttle, whose work
 6 Craty| SOCRATES: And when the piercer uses the awl, whose work will
 7 Craty| SOCRATES: And when the teacher uses the name, whose work will
 8 Craty|       when he gives us a name, uses the work of the legislator?~
 9 Craty|        nature to their several uses?~HERMOGENES: Certainly.~
10 Craty|     adapted by nature to their uses?~HERMOGENES: True.~SOCRATES:
11 Craty|    Socrates.~SOCRATES: And who uses the work of the lyre-maker?
12 Craty|  SOCRATES: You know how Hesiod uses the word?~HERMOGENES: I
13 Craty|   air-blasts,’ (aetai); he who uses the term may mean, so to
14 Craty|      depict anything sometimes uses purple only, or any other
15 Craty|       anything of that kind—he uses his colours as his figures
16 Craty|      motion; and he frequently uses the letter for this purpose:
17 Craty|     all things. This is why he uses the letter iota as imitative
