 2 Text|     robes and bedding and such things which are of greater value
 3 Text|         is more worth than the things which are especially reckoned
 4 Text|      claimed to be wiser about things of real importance, you
 5 Text|       drink and other pleasant things, but he cannot owing to
 6 Text|        on to say, of all other things; men make them to be what
 7 Text|     thoughts correspond to the things which they meet with.’~Well,
 8 Text|        at all with these other things, but he has converted my
 9 Text|        makes me good, he makes things good to me.~Prodicus did
10 Text|     the youth, that doing good things is like building a house,—
11 Text|    work of human agency; or do things remain what they were at
12 Text|        I think that doing good things is a work of human agency.~
13 Text|        and wise:—if, at least, things are good to the good and
14 Text|     the Gods to grant you good things, although you know not whether
15 Text|   ourselves. And clearly those things cannot all be regarded as
16 Text| violence (?) and various other things? These are useful and yet
17 Text|    thing is wealth, if not all things? Let us pursue the argument
18 Text|  wealth is one class of useful things; and now we have to enquire,
19 Text|        the use of those useful things which constitute wealth?
20 Text|     constitute wealth? For all things probably may be said to
21 Text|        production, just as all things which have life are animals,
22 Text|        service of the body the things of which we now stand in
23 Text|        any necessity for those things which now make us wish for
24 Text|    gold and silver and similar things are not wealth. But I am
25 Text|       strongly of opinion that things which are useless to us
26 Text|   greatest use; not that these things are not useful towards life,
27 Text|         and thus procure those things of which they stand in need?~
28 Text|        arts are reckoned among things useful, the arts are wealth
29 Text|   alone have profit from these things, supposing at least that
30 Text|      gold and silver and other things which seem to be wealth
31 Text|      question. Are not certain things useful to the builder when
32 Text|       would you say that those things are useful which are employed
33 Text|      and clothes and the other things which are useful to the
34 Text|       never wants any of these things for the use of the body?~
35 Text|        down the principle that things cannot be at one time useful
36 Text|    accomplish some results bad things are needed, and good for
37 Text|     look at it in this way:—If things are useful towards the several
38 Text|        to prove that all these things were useless. I saw that
39 Text|     cannot agree whether these things are useful and a part of
40 Text|       is least in need of such things, does not the same reasoning
41 Text|        SOCRATES: Then if these things are useful for supplying
42 Text|    whom the greatest number of things are useful for his purpose,
43 Text|    feel the want of all useful things?~CRITIAS: It seems so.~SOCRATES:
44 Text|      has likewise need of many things for the supply of the wants
45 Text|        be most in want of such things.~
