 1 Euthyd|      the art of the composer of speeches, who knows how to write
 2 Euthyd|         but a great composer of speeches.’ Socrates understands that
 3 Euthyd|         to speak and to compose speeches which will have an effect
 4 Euthyd|         learn the art of making speeches— would that be the art which
 5 Euthyd|     there are some composers of speeches who do not know how to use
 6 Euthyd|         not know how to use the speeches which they make, just as
 7 Euthyd|    themselves unable to compose speeches, but are able to use the
 8 Euthyd|         but are able to use the speeches which the others make for
 9 Euthyd|   proves that the art of making speeches is not the same as the art
10 Euthyd|    proof that the art of making speeches is not one which will make
11 Euthyd| direction; for the composers of speeches, whenever I meet them, always
12 Euthyd|       of orators, who makes the speeches with which they do battle?~
