Dialogue

 1  Gorg|       Miltiades, Themistocles, Pericles, are his favourites. His
 2  Gorg|     with the ‘recent’ death of Pericles, who really died twenty-four
 3  Gorg|      sense, like Alcibiades or Pericles, but in a higher one; and
 4  Gorg|        docks and walls, and of Pericles, whom Socrates himself has
 5  Gorg|     Aristocrates, the house of Pericles, or any other great family—
 6  Gorg|       Miltiades, and the great Pericles were still alive. Socrates
 7  Gorg|        the same question about Pericles, and Cimon, and Miltiades,
 8  Gorg|      make better? Nay, did not Pericles make the citizens worse?
 9  Gorg|      and man is an animal; and Pericles who had the charge of man
10  Gorg|        applauded Themistocles, Pericles, and others, will lay hold
11  Gorg|    Themistocles, and partly of Pericles, and not at the suggestion
12  Gorg|     myself heard the speech of Pericles when he advised us about
