 1   Ion|     childlike enthusiasm of the rhapsode Ion. The theme of the Dialogue
 2   Ion|        Aristotle, Met.)~Ion the rhapsode has just come to Athens;
 3   Ion| Socrates admires and envies the rhapsode’s art; for he is always
 4   Ion|    Socrates is as follows:—~The rhapsode is not guided by rules of

10   Ion|    meaning of the poet. For the rhapsode ought to interpret the mind

26   Ion|      slave to be a cowherd; the rhapsode will know better than the
27   Ion|         sort of thing which the rhapsode will be sure to know.~SOCRATES:
28   Ion|     Well, but is the art of the rhapsode the art of the general?~
29   Ion|       general as well as of the rhapsode; and you may also have a
30   Ion|         of it as a general or a rhapsode?~ION: To me there appears
31   Ion|         say that the art of the rhapsode and of the general is the
32   Ion| SOCRATES: Then he who is a good rhapsode is also a good general?~
33   Ion|     good general is also a good rhapsode?~ION: No; I do not say that.~
