Dialogue

 1 Lache|  Laches are quite willing to give their opinion; but they
 2 Lache|   their opinions, which they give in a characteristic manner.
 3 Lache|    and we hope that you will give us your opinion about this
 4 Lache| advice which you are able to give. Moreover I have a claim
 5 Lache| Lysimachus, you ought not to give him up; for I can assure
 6 Lache|   add, then I may venture to give my opinion to them as well
 7 Lache|    practising the arts which give them an advantage over other
 8 Lache|   their measure, which I can give you at once; for none of
 9 Lache|    one. But I am too poor to give money to the Sophists, who
10 Lache|   discoverers in that field, give us some proof of your skill.
11 Lache|      will be questioned, and give an explanation about matters
12 Lache|      he finds that he has to give an account both of his present
13 Lache|   And therefore, Socrates, I give you notice that you may
14 Lache|    only the man of merit can give. Therefore, say whatever
